Help & Support
Troubleshooting Guide.
Common issues and solutions for compatible IP cameras, NVR systems, Videoloft Cloud Adapter setup, and cloud service activation.
IP Camera Issues
Camera or recorder not found on the network.
IP camera or NVR not found
- Make sure the camera or NVR is powered on and connected to the same local network as the router.
- Confirm the camera uses an Ethernet/network connection or is connected through a compatible NVR.
- Use the camera or recorder's real local network IP address from the customer's router or NVR menu.
- Restart the camera or recorder by unplugging it for 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
- If using a NVR system, verify the cameras are online inside the recorder menu.
About QR codes, P2P, and default IPs
- Videoloft cloud setup is based on compatible IP/network cameras or supported NVR systems.
- QR codes and P2P IDs are usually for the original camera manufacturer's mobile app, not for confirming Videoloft compatibility.
- A default IP address printed in a manual or held by a P2P app may not be the customer's real local network IP address.
- The correct IP is the current LAN address assigned on the customer's network, usually shown in the router, NVR, or camera network settings.
- If you are not sure whether your system is IP or analog/coax, use the Camera Check page first.
- Do not reset cameras unless support asks you to. Resetting can erase network and recorder settings.
Adapter Setup
Videoloft Cloud Adapter Issues.
Adapter not connecting to network
- Verify the adapter is plugged into a working power outlet and the Ethernet cable is securely connected.
- Make sure your router has DHCP enabled and available IP addresses.
- Try a different Ethernet cable or port on your router.
- Check that your network allows outbound connections on port 443 (HTTPS).
Adapter LED status meaning
- Solid green: Adapter is connected and working normally.
- Flashing green: Adapter is booting or connecting to the network.
- Solid red: Network connection issue - check cables and router.
- Flashing red: Firmware update in progress. Do not unplug.
Cloud Activation
Cloud Recording Activation Help.
Cloud service not active after setup
- Cloud recording is activated after billing and account setup are confirmed. This is a separate step from the adapter hardware purchase.
- Check that the Cloud Setup Wizard was completed successfully.
- Wait for the Videoloft confirmation email with your account credentials.
- If you haven't received credentials within 24 hours, check your spam folder or contact support.
